Team Update 1-18-10
Currently our robot design team is finalizing drive train design, getting prints ready to send to the robot build team for the base of the robot, designing the prototype for the robot kicker, and they’re also ordering the needed parts for the robot. Our robot build team is currently building parts for the playing field, building the kit bot (robot prototype), and practicing driving with kit bot. The scouting team is currently teaching students how to scout during competitions. The web design team is currently updating our team web site from the 2009 robotics season.

Robotics teams begin new season

WARREN - Robot building has begun.

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) robotics teams from area high schools, including Harding High School, have begun the designing and construction of their robots which will compete this spring at regional competitions throughout the country.

The teams met recently to hear the challenge set forth for competitions this year and also to begun brainstorming ideas. (Continued...)

2010 FIRST Kickoff
The 2010 FIRST Robotics Season will kick off this Saturday in Harding’s cafetorium starting at 10:00 am and will run until approximately 4:00 pm., with lunch being served at about 11:45. The newest additions to the NEOFRA roster, Team 3139, Falco Tech, from Austintown Fitch and Team 3209, NHS Robotics, from Niles are scheduled to attend this event as well.

We've posted the team manual today. For those of you that aren't a part of the team, you'll only be able to see the cover and table of contents. If you're interested in knowing more about it's contents, feel free to e-mail us and we'll direct you to our Safety Advisor. For team members, your version of the safety manual is password protected. You'll be informed of that password very shortly.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Region-wide Call for Sponsors and Mentors for all levels of FIRST Robotics Programs (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology – http://www.usfirst.org) is a non-profit organization whose innovative middle and high school competitive robotics programs “motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while building self-confidence, knowledge and life skills.” FIRST students work alongside local mentors, actively applying what they’ve learned in the classroom. Teams design and build robots to compete in an exciting game challenge that changes every year. Competitions are modeled after real pro sporting events, complete with head to head gameplay and play by play commentary.
