Possible Event and Shipping Changes
http://frcdirector.blogspot.com/2009/09/welcome-back.html

By: Bill Miller
"Welcome back from the holiday weekend. I spent my time at the lake mulling over the options for 2010 and am feeling energized. It's too early to share the final details, but there will be change, so keep your options open as you plan for the season.

Robot shipping will probably work differently this year due to increased shipping costs. We're even discussing expanding the use of robot isolation bags (as seen in Michigan last year) to a limited number of locations.

You can also expect changes to some of the event schedules. We might go with fewer days and longer hours, or we might start qualification rounds earlier in the event, but we are definitely looking for ways to maximize the number of plays teams get at events this year."

We must all just wait and see what changes, if any, will be in store for events in 2010. Perhaps some of the "poorer" events would have to adopt such changes ahead of healthier regionals? I'm all for getting more matches.

This all came from Bill's Blog, which is another site a rep from each team should monitor periodically. Bill Miller is the director of FRC.

NEOFRA Picnic July 25th
Do you miss all your team mates from around Trumbull County? Well lucky you. NEOFRA is having a picnic for everyone and you don't want to miss it.

Mark you Calendars now. July 25th at Perkins Park in Warren from 1pm till Dusk

Date: Saturday July 25th, 2009
Time: 1pm until Dusk, Lunch at 2pm
Location: Perkins Park Pavilion #2, Warren, OH (map)
What to Bring:
Bring recreational equipment - softballs, bats, gloves, volleyball and net, football, frisbees, etc.

As always, place settings – napkins, plates, utensils, cups - are the responsibility of individual teams. If you end up with more than you need, then you’ve just gathered a supply of stuff to save for your team food times during the next robo-season.

If individuals want to bring "custom items" to grill - steak, brats, etc. - go for it. John Pasco's dad will bring his grill to the picnic.

Team Food Responsibilities:
Girard - Hot Dogs/Hamburgers/Buns
Champion - Pop/Water/Beverages
Harding – Desserts/Covered Dishes
Liberty - Condiments - Ketchup/Mustard/Chili Sauce/Relish/Onions/etc.
Maplewood – Chips/Munchies
Chaney – Pot luck. Pick from any of the categories.
Grill Duties – John Pasco’s Dad (Girard should line up a backup grill, just in case)

Anyone can bring a food item out of their team’s category if they feel especially culinarily (word?) creative.
