"Safety Sub-team of the Week" - January 26, 2009
Through the influence of its mentors and veteran team members, this team showed consistent improvement of its recognition of safety work practices over the past few weeks of the build season. It is impressive to see our rookie team members quickly learning and accepting our team’s award-winning safety culture.
Congratulations to the Team 48 Safety Sub-Team of the Week Award winner, the A/V Photo Team
Build Team Update 2-3-09
****ATTENTION**** We have less then two weeks to finish build and ship the robot; therefore, we will have to lock you in the wood shop from now untill the robot is finished

. Just kidding, the fact is, we need you to come in and help with the construction of the robot. Remember. We want every member of Delphi E.L.I.T.E. Team 48 to help put at least one part of the robot together. Come on down to the shop and help with the assembly of the robot but have some one there to show you how it assemble it correctly.
AND A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU PARENTS for helping us stay focused during the long hours of the night.
"Safety Sub-team of the Week" - January 19, 2008
Although this team is based in a relatively safe classroom environment away from the industrial shops, this team helps to advance our safety culture by creating links to safety websites and document, promote, and celebrate our safety activities for all of FIRST friends to see.
Congratulations to the Team 48 Safety Sub-team of the Week award winner, the Web team.
Build team update 1-21-09
Three Weeks down and Three weeks to go
Thanks to all of the people coming in to help get the robot built. We have sent out the base frame to get welded; however, we still have more prints that need to be completed so we can start fastening them to the base frame when it returns. We would like to thank Master Street Engineering for donating there time and resources to weld our frame. It's a complicated design this year and will take some time to accomplish.
The build team is now staying until 7:45pm so we can get more done with the parts. It's important to note the change in times so that you can have a ride waiting for you at 7:45. If you expect to travel with the team, we need to see you working in the shop.
Also, when the school is closed because of the weather or a holiday, the build and design teams will still be working in the shop. The shop opens at 12 noon on those days and they stay till 6pm.
A huge thanks goes out to the parents who have been bringing dinner for the team to eat. If it was not for you, we could get tired and start to mess up the parts we are working on. So a big thanks to you.
Hands ON Food Drive
Hands On, a volunteer group that helps the Second Harvest Food Bank has a specific mission to help students stay healthy. This group packs bags with healthy snacks that kids would like, and then sends them to 3rd graders. The reason Hands On targets third graders is that third graders have been found to not get enough protein in their meals. Hands On asked our team if we would be interested in helping with a food drive at our high school, Warren G. Harding High School. The food drive was on Monday from 8:30 to 2:30.
